Real-Time Co-Editing

OfficeDocs lets multiple users work on the same document at the same time. This makes it easier to collaborate, review updates, and keep everyone working in the same file instead of sending separate copies back and forth.

How It Works

When multiple people open the same document, they join the same editing session.

Starting a Co-Editing Session

To start working together on a document:

  1. Share the document with the collaborators who need access.
  2. Make sure they have permission to edit the file.
  3. Each collaborator opens the same shared document.
  4. The co-editing session begins automatically.
  5. Everyone can see shared activity inside the document.
Seeing Other Users

OfficeDocs shows when other people are active in the same document.

Strict Mode

Strict mode gives you more control over when updates from others appear.

Conflict Handling

When several users edit the same document, OfficeDocs includes tools that help manage overlapping changes.
